Senior Event Transport Operations Manager

The Role

The Senior Event Transport Operations Manager oversees planning and implementation of a smooth functioning, cost-efficient and high-quality event transport system for EURO 2028 in close cooperation with the Event Transport team of UEFA in Nyon.

The Senior Event Transport Operations Manager is responsible to build-up, establish and manage an event transport team of managers, coordinators and assistants in the headquarter in London but also across all 9 venues of the EURO 2028. The job comprises the planning and implementation of all event transport operations for the tournament and further events related to the EURO 2028 (Draws, Official Dinners) in line with the general objectives of the Tournament.

What will you be doing?

General:

  • Responsible for the overall lead of the EURO 2028 Event Transport Team in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland;
  • Oversees the planning, implementation and delivery of operations of Event Transport for EURO 2028 and its pre-tournament events;
  • Acts as key contact person towards internal and external stakeholders;
  • Responsible for adapting and implementing standard operating procedures defined by UEFA based on the local specificities;
  • Responsible for EURO 2028 project management and recruitment;
  • Accountable for the implementation of Event Transport Service Levels
  • Responsible for establishing a training strategy for the project’s workforce in coordination with the team based in Nyon;
  • Active participation of knowledge consolidation and event debrief process;

Fleet and Bus management

  • Oversees the overall resource scoping plans and the implementation of UEFA’s Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices for Fleet and Bus Operations;
  • Responsible for managing the sourcing and contracting processes for all Fleet and Bus Operations suppliers, in accordance to the requirements and constraints defined by UEFA;
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing a comprehensive supplier management strategy in order to ensure service effectiveness, quality and cost control;

Vehicle access and parking operations

  • Supervises the implementation of a vehicle access and parking operations system for the event;
  • Liaison with several internal and external stakeholder to ensure smooth and efficient vehicle access procedures at all venues.

Arrivals and Departures operations

  • Defines and implements operating procedures for the provision of arrival and departure services at the Tournament’s official ports of entry;
  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of transportation operational plans for airports and railway stations.

Target Group transport operations

  • Responsible for the implementation of transportation service level agreements, ensuring the coordination between all sub-projects;
  • Responsible for establishing local processes for the integration of service providers and sub-projects;
  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of transportation operational plans for all serviced locations including hotels, training centres and other event locations.

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience in complex project management and event transport operations in a multicultural environment, both planning and delivery
  • Previous experience working on major sporting events, ideally within football
  • Extensive experience leading large teams in event transport, or within event services, logistics, venue management or access management
  • Proven experience of significant budget management
  • Proven communication skills and ability to deliver high quality written reports & presentations
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate strategies clearly and concisely
  • Resilient & positive through change
  • Extensive experience of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management tools

Where is the role based?
Our head office is based at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, however depending on your role you may be required to travel across the UK and Ireland to our 9 Stadiums and 8 Host Cities, with some roles being based in those locations.

As an event delivery organisation, it’s important that we have regular time together in the office and currently employees come together at least 2 days a week at HQ in Wembley, with the number of days in HQ increasing as the project develops with a minimum of 3-4 days needed in 2026-2027 and full time in the year of 2028.
